About Stacy Coulterman
Stacy was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. She obtained a degree in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from Carleton University in 2009. Stacy then went on to obtain a law degree from the University of Manitoba in 2014. After articling with the Child Protection Law Office with Legal Aid Manitoba, she was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2015. In 2016, Stacy returned to Ottawa and was called to the Ontario Bar.
Stacy’s primary area of practice is family law, and she has valuable experience with litigation and negotiations involving the gamut of family law issues: separation and divorce, parenting (i.e., custody and access), child and spousal support, and the redistribution of net family property. She chose to focus on family law after witnessing how complicated, emotional, and stressful the legal process can be when dealing with such important and life-altering issues.
Stacy’s primary goals: helping people understand the complicated and often overwhelming legal process; advising individuals as to their options and giving them the knowledge needed to determine the path most suitable for their situations.
While Stacy prefers a non-adversarial approach to family law, she has considerable litigation experience with lengthy, high-conflict disputes, and she has the knowledge, savoir faire, and dedication required to bring these difficult cases to a necessary resolution.
